
About Antenatal Care
ANC is care provided to the pregnant women throughout her pregnancy so that the mother and baby are safe.
- Antenatal visit - It is recommended that the pregnant women see the doctor one’s her period is missed (pregnancy test is positive)
- In the 1st trimester (up to 12 weeks) the women should visit the doctor monthly unless she is having some complications
- In the 2nd trimester (13 weeks to 28 weeks) the women can visit the doctor every month.
- After 28 weeks to 36 weeks ANC visit should be every 15 days
- After 36 weeks to 40 weeks weekly ANC check-up is required
· ANC also helps to identify high risk pregnancies and detected complication in mother and foetus easily
