Urogynaecology is a subspecialty of gynaecology and urology that focuses on conditions of the female pelvic floor. Urogynaecologists are doctors who diagnose and treat these conditions, including:

• Urinary or fecal incontinence

• Constipation

• Pelvic organ prolapse

• Vaginal prolapse

• Recurrent urinary tract infections

• Bladder pain

• Pelvic floor injury after childbirth

• Congenital anomalies of the lower reproductive tract

• Overactive bladder syndrome

• Stress urinary incontinence

 

Some common causes of pelvic floor damage include: Heavy lifting, Chronic coughing, Severe constipation, and Obesity.
